FAQ
How do I use a double-edge razor?
Wet your face, apply lather, and shave with short strokes at roughly a 30-degree angle — let the weight of the razor do the work instead of pressing down. Go with the grain first. If you've only used cartridges before, expect it to feel different for the first few shaves.
Where do I buy blades?
Any standard double-edge blade fits — Derby, Astra, Feather, whatever you find at a pharmacy or online. A pack of 100 runs about $10–15, which works out to roughly 10–15 cents a shave.
Is it dangerous?
It's sharp — that's the point. Go slow for the first week, don't press down, and you'll be fine. Most people nick themselves once while they're learning the angle, same as anyone learning anything with an edge.
How long does it take to get used to?
About two weeks of regular shaving. Your first few shaves will be slower than a cartridge. After that, most people find it's both faster and closer.
How long does the razor last?
The metal body isn't a consumable — it's covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. The blade is the only part you ever replace, and that's by design.
Do I need anything else to get started?
Just blades and whatever lather you already use. The Starter Kit includes a pack of five blades, so you can shave the day it arrives.
What does the adjustable dial do?
Both LIFER razors have a numbered dial on a removable head. Turning it changes how exposed the blade is, which changes how aggressive the shave feels — lower while you're learning the angle, higher once you're comfortable. The Classic has 6 settings; the Open-Comb has 8.
How long does shipping take?
6–18 days total (1–3 days processing, 5–15 days transit), free, US only. Full details on the Shipping & Returns page.
Can I return it?
We don't accept returns for change of mind, since this is a personal-care item. If it arrives defective, we replace it — see Shipping & Returns for how.
